Market City Music

Hey everybody, Tommy here. I’m gonna try and write a weekly blog for new music to check out. I’ll be taking suggestions from the guys, and making my own as well. This week we’ve got everything from mainstream pop to some spooky hip hop just in time for Halloween. First up this week we’ve got the new Sinai Vessel LP Ground Aswim. This is the very anticipated follow up to their 2017 LP Brokenlegged. This raw, live recorded record is definitely worth a listen. Bring Me The Horizon dropped a new EP titled Post Human: Survival Horror. BMTH has brought the heat with this surprisingly heavy EP. The opener reminds me of accidentally getting caught in a wall of death at Warped Tour 2013. This band has really evolved with the times and never fails to provide fun releases. With features from BABYMETAL, YUNGBLUD, and Amy Lee (of Evanescence), it's hard to pass this one up. One of my most anticipated releases last week was the new PUP EP This Place Sucks Ass. I’ve loved everything this band has put out and this is no exception. Anaphylaxis is in the running for Song of the Year for me and their cover of Granddaddy’s A.M. 180 is fantastic. Hammy has suggested the new Open Mike Eagle LP Anime, Trauma, and Divorce. With references to the anime series Neon Genesis Evangelion and Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure, heavy relatable themes, and fantastic beats, this is one hell of an album. A podcast favorite, Chris Thile, dropped a new single Thank You, New York featuring Gaby Moreno. He’s never released a bad song. It’s good. Go listen to it. Singer/Songwriter Noah Gundersen released two new singles over the past two weeks. He continues to capture you and keep your attention. Hopefully we will see a new full length in the near future. Tigers Jaw have dropped a new single Cat’s Cradle and have also announced the release of their 6th album I Won’t Care How You’ll Remember Me (coming 03/05/21). Get your flannels ready everybody, it’s a good one. Another suggestion from Hammy is the new clipping. record Visions of Bodies Being Burned. This “hip hop horror anthology” as Hammy describes it, is different to say the least. If you want a spooky, dark hip hop record, you should check it out. Ariana Grande has released a new album titled Positions this week. I think we can all agree that Ariana is an insanely talented vocalist. I haven't had the chance to give it a full listen, but from what I’ve heard it’s exactly what you would expect (in the best way possible). If y’all have any suggestions for new releases feel free to dm us on our Instagram or Twitter! Happy Halloween guys! Be safe out there.
